Training program

Ruby Eye Hospital, Berhampur runs a Diploma in Ophthalmic Technique course in collaboration with the Foundation of Ophthalmic and Optometric Research Education Centre (FOOREC), with a certificate from the Healthcare Sector Skill Council, Government of India.

The course lasts 3 years: six semesters of six months each, including one year of compulsory practical and clinical training (apprenticeship) at the hospital. After completing it, students can work in medical colleges, government and private hospitals, nursing homes and clinics, or set up their own optical clinic.

Eligibility: +2 Science with at least 45% marks in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics, and at least 18 years of age on 1 July of the year of admission.
